 Wednesday 4th January 2023

Well, welcome to 2023, we hope you all had a good New Years Eve, celebrating in your own way. We had a quiet evening with a lovely 'al fresco' tapas style meal on the verandah, with some bubbly of course- and were joined by the workers who are currently helping on the farm. Incidentally they are known as Woofers - which basically stands for willing workers on organic farms - they get to work on the farm, have accommodation and food provisions supplied, but do not get paid.  At the moment there is one from Germany, (Chung) one from France (Tania) and one from Belgium (Thomas)- all really nice people and very good workers.

After the meal we played a number of silly, but enjoyable games, before heading off to bed - well before midnight.

We are now in the 'Wet Season', and do we mean wet - yes WET. on New Years day evening and night we had 88mm - well over 3 inches of rain that evening.

On Monday 2nd January, Hannah, Merle and I were going on a Hot air Balloon experience - we were up at 3.30am and away to Mareeba for a meet up with the team for 4.30am and then the balloon flight at 6.00 am. Well, it didn't happen because of the weather - the pilots waited for as long as they felt they could, but passenger safety had to come first, so it was cancelled. all being well we are now scheduled for Sunday morning.

Below are a selection of photos showing the entrance to the farm and the surrounding countryside - made all the more greener by the rain.
